About the Courses

What is EmpowerED Professional Learning?
EmpowerED PL delivers classroom-ready professional development for K–12 and higher-ed educators. Courses are short, practical, and built around videos, templates, and activities you can use immediately.
Who are these courses for?
Classroom teachers, instructional coaches, adjuncts/lecturers, TAs, curriculum leads, and anyone supporting online, blended, or tech-enhanced instruction.
How are courses structured?
Each lesson has two parts:

  • Part A: watch a short video and complete an auto-graded quiz (passing score ≥ 80%).
  • Part B: download resources and submit a brief activity graded with a clear rubric.

Lessons unlock in order; you’ll receive a certificate at course completion.

How long do I have access?
Unless otherwise stated on the course page, you have 12 months of access from purchase. District/cohort enrollments may specify different windows at checkout.
Where can I find the course syllabus?
Each course card on the homepage includes a “View syllabus” link (Google Doc). You’ll also find the syllabus in the first section of your Moodle course.

Enrollment, Pricing & Groups

How do I enroll?
Click a course on the homepage and choose Enroll. Checkout and enrollment happen securely in Moodle. Your course will appear under My courses after payment.
Do you offer group or district purchases?
Yes. We support purchase orders, bulk enrollment, and roster uploads. Email [email protected] with seat counts, course titles, and target start date for a quote.
Do you offer discounts or scholarships?
We periodically offer educator discounts; district/school pricing is tiered. Ask about current promotions at [email protected].

Grading, Progress & Certificates

What is your grading policy?
  • Quizzes: auto-graded; unlimited retries allowed (best score counts). Passing score is ≥ 80%.
  • Activities: scored with our Universal Reflection Rubric (clarity, relevance, actionability, accessibility); most are Pass/No-Pass.
  • Completion: pass all quizzes and submit required activities.
Do I need to click “Complete Lesson”?
Lessons with a required quiz usually complete automatically once you pass. For resource-only/activity pages, click the Complete lesson button at the bottom to proceed.
How do I get my Certificate of Completion?
Certificates generate automatically when the final lesson is complete. Download from the last lesson or My courses → Certificates.
What appears on the certificate?
Learner name, course title, completion date, issuing organization (EmpowerED Professional Learning), and total PD hours. Districts may request custom fields (e.g., credit hours, certificate ID).
Can I retake quizzes?
Yes—unlimited attempts, best score counts. If you’re stuck, review the summary/resources and try again.

Credit, PD Hours & Transcripts

Do your courses count for CEUs or salary advancement?
Policies vary by state, credentialing body, and district. We provide a Certificate of Completion with PD hours and a syllabus/outline. Please seek pre-approval; we can supply documentation via [email protected].
How many PD hours is each course worth?
PD hours are shown on the course cards and printed on certificates:

  • AI in Education: 5 PD hours
  • Classroom Management in Online & Hybrid Learning: 4 PD hours
  • Data Literacy for Teachers: 5 PD hours
  • Effective Assessment & Feedback in Online/Hybrid: 5 PD hours
  • Engaging Online Classrooms — Strategies for Engagement: 5 PD hours
  • Introduction to Effective Online Learning (coming soon): 5 PD hours
  • Mathematical Thinking for Teachers: 3 PD hours

Note: Your approving body makes final determinations for credit/advancement.

Can you verify completion for my district?
Yes. With your written permission, we can email or upload verification to your district portal. Contact [email protected].

Where do I get help during a course?

Inside each course, you’ll also see a Help & Support link in the course navigation, plus “Need help?” prompts on quiz/assignment pages.

I can’t log in / I forgot my password.
Click Log In → Lost your password? and follow the reset link. If you don’t receive an email within 5 minutes, check spam or contact [email protected].
Videos won’t play or captions aren’t showing.
Refresh; try another browser; disable ad/tracker blockers for our site; clear cache/cookies and sign in again. Still stuck? Send a screenshot, your browser version, and course name to [email protected].
A quiz won’t submit / the page won’t mark complete.
Ensure all questions are answered, click Submit, and wait for the score. If needed, click Complete lesson at the bottom. Try a different browser/device. If the issue persists, email [email protected] with the lesson number.

Accessibility & Accommodations

Are your courses accessible?
We follow UDL and accessibility best practices: captions/transcripts for videos, alt text for images, descriptive links, keyboard-navigable activities. Report barriers to [email protected].
How do I request an accommodation?
Email [email protected] with your course, the accommodation needed, and timeline. We typically respond within 2 business days.

Refunds, Transfers & Cancellations

What is your refund policy?
14-day money-back guarantee if both are true:

  1. You’ve completed ≤ 25% of the course (no certificate issued), and
  2. You request a refund within 14 days of purchase.

Email [email protected] with your order number. Refunds usually settle in 5–10 business days.

Can I transfer my enrollment to someone else?
Yes—if you have not started the course. Contact [email protected] with the new participant’s name and email.
I purchased by mistake—what do I do?
Contact [email protected] within 48 hours and we’ll help.

Data Privacy & Security

How do you use my data?
We collect only what’s needed to deliver your course and issue certificates. We do not sell personal data. Analytics help us improve content and support learners. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Can I delete my account or request my data?
Yes. Email [email protected] to request a data export or deletion. Some records (e.g., issued certificates) may be retained as required by law.
Can I share my login?
No—accounts are for individual use. Sharing credentials may result in access removal without refund.

Support Hours & Contact

How do I get help?

Business hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. (U.S. Central). Urgent technical incidents outside these hours are addressed as soon as possible.
