Learning Experience Overview
The FTCE Professional Education Test is one of the exams Florida requires for most educator certifications. Rather than measuring what a candidate knows about a content area, it measures how a candidate teaches — a computer-based, multiple-choice exam built around Florida’s eight official Educator Accomplished Practices competencies, from planning a lesson before it’s taught to acting within the state’s Code of Ethics once a teacher is in the classroom.
Mastering the FTCE Professional Education Test was built by EmpowerED Professional Learning specifically around the FLDOE competency blueprint for this exam, rather than around a generic teaching-methods curriculum. The course groups all 8 competencies into 5 lessons, so every point of exam coverage is addressed exactly once, and every concept, worked example, and practice question ties directly back to a skill the exam actually tests. Three of the five lessons also include a “Classroom Case File” — a single realistic classroom scenario followed by guided analysis questions, each targeting a different skill — mirroring a pattern the real exam uses often.
Each lesson combines an interactive lesson, an optional companion video, an auto-graded quiz, and an ungraded practice handout. After all 5 lessons, learners complete a full-length, 80-question practice exam proportioned exactly like the real test, review a one-page study cheat sheet, and finish with a closing video covering test-day logistics. A pre-course survey and matching post-course survey let learners (and course administrators) track how confidence in each competency shifts from start to finish.
